FROM LIFE: Stigmata helps scientist believe in God
"As a scientist, I am fully aware of how the body works. Healing takes place when the body is alive. I am intrigued by the stigmata case of Padre Pio in recent times when science is now at an advanced stage. This is different from St. Francis' case when there were no doctors and professors. Padre Pio was treated by doctors, including a non-believer but his wounds could not heal. However the wounds closed when Padre Pio died. This goes against science which states that when the body is dead there can't be healing. In front of these cases I cannot but believe in the supernatural, in God."
